I'm a new face but an old gardener (and punk!). I'm nowhere near self-sufficient (I have a tiny urban garden around 9m x 5m at its biggest, with a very mature silver birch at the end, and that's it), but I manage to grow useful amounts of nice things, mainly in pots and containers, anyway - chillies, garlic, salad leaf, herbs, dwarf beans, runner beans, sweet peppers, tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, carrots and spuds have all found a place on the patio this year. Apart from a small patch of lawn under the tree on which to sit and muse (as well as quaff the odd glass of a nice Sauv Blanc), the rest of the garden is mainly occupied by a mini-meadow, native hedgerow (which will, fingers crossed, begin to give me sloes to flavour my vodka at some point), wildflower / wildlife-friendly borders, compost bin and a pond. I may not be self-sufficient but the birds, bugs and frogs most certainly are
I'm hoping to pick up lots of ideas, especially for growing in small spaces, as well as share some of what I've learnt over the years.
Cheers
