i agree that people should turn the lights off... even with jonathan we sing as we turn a light off EVERYTIME we leave a room....

Turn the light off... save electricity!!

Ina... I'm not surprised that you haven't forgotten your father saying that to you.

Ok so it looks like it will be next week that we move. We have to have moved by the 14th and I have got that time to work out how to move a forum without loosing any data.

So I am thinking Tuesday and Wednesday next with, hopefully will be back up sometime late Wednesday or Thursday. I will see if the meantime I can configure the forum just sitting on selfsufficientish.tv to run with this data onto it, so that there is no real downtime for forum users. - Not sure how to do this or even if you can, but worth a go. So if you get to this forum and it looks down goto http://selfsufficientish.tv/phpBB2/ and hopefully you will see this forum. Bear with me though I am still learning with these sql databases and stuff.

I wouldn't worry too much about the temp forum if it is going to cause a headache... we are all dedicated enough not to disappear if the forum isn't here for a day or two... but if you could have a word with the weather bloke to make sure we've got some good gardening weather that would be much appreciated

Well, if you can read this, it seems Andy has done his stuff and got the forum working on the new server. Well done mate. If, however, you can't read it, then that means... Oh, hang on; forget that.

Dunno about anybody else, but I still get the odd glitch, and keep getting diverted back to the old forum. No doubt this will get sorted out, but if, like me you're having trouble logging on to the new forum, try this for now: log on using the boxes at the bottom of the main forum Index page (don't use the Log-on link at the top). For some reason, logging on takes you back to the old forum, so click on your browser's 'Back' button, and then click on the 'Refresh' or 'Reload' button.

..and it would also seem that the new forum supports multiple posting. Sorry about that. Can a moderator with access to this section do a bit of pruning please.

Done and done, there is a debug error message coming up now and again not sure what it means, but seems that it can be ignored and the posts are working.

What happens now is that all the internet service providers have to slowly realise that this site is on a different server, that is why they keep flicking between the two. Some people will have the site recognised before others apparently.

I have left making the email announcement until the point where you don't swtich between the old server and new, hopefully all be ok by easter saturday.

:? Except for the debug message! It was saying something about running out of space trying to send mail. Hmmmnn... very odd.

I'm confused!!

If I click on the main ssish.com webpage to access the forum I can't get there... the link there uses a capital F for Forum whereas the link to the forum from ssish.tv uses a lower case f for forum... is that significant???

So... are we actually up and running and allowed to post without losing stuff??
