lamping comes in different forms but basicaly its using a high powered lamp around a million candle power to light up quarry for the rifle or dog!

oh and she is comming down to stay over this weekend!

When I was a kid, we had Travellers as neighbours for a time. They were really nice to us and when they went lamping for rabbits, they would try to get an extra one for us. We got a few rabbit pies from them before they or we moved on ( I don't quiet remember which). I remember being struck with how grubby they looked (just as a childish observation--not in a judgemental way) that catching rabbits must have been a lot of work and they didn't have much, yet brought some of what they had to us. It has stayed with me as a model of generosity ever since because, even though it may not have looked like it to a lot of our neighbours at the time, we really needed the help and the ones who came around, barely had anything themselves but gave anyway.

I'll stop here as I am at work and getting a little choked up as I type.
