Hi I'm Teotzlcoatl

Post: # 172188Post Teotzlcoatl »

Hey I'm Teotzlcoatl, but you can call me Teo.

My main interests are ethnobotanicals, entheogens and organic gardening.

I am a 20 year old student.

This looks like a great forum!

Does anybody else here share my interest in plants?

Welcome to ISH :flower:

Most of us here are organic, but I'm not clever enough to be an ethnobotanist  but then you could try teaching me! I'm sure you'll find ISH a great source of inspiration too.

Where abouts are you? I'm guessing South Americas?

I am in South Carolina.

I have many things I could post which you may find interesting.... mostly I work with medicinal plants, but I also dapple in zymology, mycology, organic farming, entheogens, polyculture, herbalism, agronomy, but I think my favorite interest is ethnobotany- the study of the relationship between plants and people.

Entheogens are plants which people use to connect with God (basically).

Some entheogens are illegal so I cannot discuss them here (as the rules say we can't discuss anything which is prohibited by any law anywhere in world, so that covers alot of plants).

Unless the mods give me the ok?

If I do discuss entheogens the first thing y'all must understand is that entheogens are not recreational drugs, I HATE drugs.

Ethnobotanicals is certainly a subject that can be discussed here... for example, The Toothache Plant, is a great medicinal plant!

Image

The Toothache plant's flower buds are chewed, they clean the teeth and make the mouth go numb, great for a toothache or sore in the mouth! The entire plant is edible and can be used in salads and other dishes.

We'd rather you didn't discuss plants which contain drugs which are illegal, or partly illegal or even which stray into grey areas where legality is concerned.

Plenty of other kinds of plants to talk about!

That is legal.

If you look in the mushroom section here, you'll find that the people of this forum are far more interested in discussing edible mushrooms.

I'm just poking fun.

Is the discussion of psychoactive plants frowned upon here? I don't want to get in trouble...

There are plenty legal psychoactives, so if legality is a problem I can avoid those botanicals...

Just let me know, so I don't get myself in trouble.

I'll tell you right now... I'm not about getting high, I'm about the preservation of shamanic knowledge and plants, preservation of cultural knowledge from societies which are quickly disappearing.

I would love to discuss this with the intelligent people here...

Sounds like you're really knowledgeable Teo, but personally I'm not remotely interested in psychoactives - legal or otherwise. Those days are long gone - I sent my Castaneda books to the charity shop years ago

I am interested in medicinal plants though - what is the toothache plant?
