Oh yes, we are getting married on 22nd September.

Ina, I saw the most fantastic garden yesterday with raised beds to die for. Some of which are full of rhubard ready for pulling.

We went on an Easter egg hunt at some good friends of ours in their majorly large garden. Our friend has just re made all of his raised beds and moved his 20 chickens to a new patch. It was lovely! Oooh I am sooo jealous of it.

...yes, and my own in the garden is only about 5cm high... Shiney, your friends must have forced the rhubarb, surely! I intended to hurry on one of my plants this year - but could I find it out there? Had to wait until it started growing - I had suspected it about half a meter from where it really is. So I'd covered the wrong place with a bucket!

Mine are in leaf and big already but they keep sending up flower stalks, which I didn't know rhubarb did (flowered that is)! So I keep cutting them off. Will it stop eventually and start producing more leaves? Any advice for a complete rhubarb novice? :geek:

There were big clay forcers in the patch, so I guess it was. Still, it looked good!

Looks like you are doing just the right thing... http://www.gardenaction.co.uk/fruit_veg ... hubarb.asp tells you to cut the flower stems off asap as they can cause problems to the plant.

If I remember correctly, rhubarb was initially introduced for its attractive flowers...
