That's really lovely nothing like the ginger colour I got last time (no mordant, shop onion skins mostly), did you alum mordant?

alum mordanted the wool the night before - so a couple of teaspoons of alum in a bucket of water.. dunk skeins in.

twice as much weight in onion skins as wool - so thats *a lot* of onion skins. boiled them up, left them overnight, added wool, boiled for a while, left over night. done.
