Vegan recipes

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Vegan recipes

Post: # 185343Post Susie »

Has anyone got any good vegan recipes they could recommend? I'm trying to eat vegan at the moment, and I can see myself getting stuck in a scrambled tofu rut, which is silly when there are so many nice recipes out there!

Thanks everyone :hugish:

It might be easier susie if you let us know any particular ingredients you fancy. I've got a database of recipes, many vegan, or veganable -   .

It's usually not too difficult to convert your favourite non-vegan recipes either. Let us know what and we may be able to advise.

Also, if you use the All Ish search button for vegan - loads of threads come up.

A tad off-topic, but I don't want to upset the non-Vegans (always shoving it down our throats, blah blah!) but I had Vegan Fish and Chips at a veggie restaurant in Newcastle the other day. Quite unnerving to begin with, as it was very close to how I remember fish tasting.

As for recipes, what sort of stuff do you like or would like to try?

Me and the missus love experimenting with new Vegan stuff, and she is particularly good at Veganising things!
Many were increasingly of the opinion that they'd all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that even the trees had been a bad move, and that no one should ever have left the oceans.

Thank you everyone, sorry I posted a vague question and then disappeared! Richie, these look great, will definitely try, thanks, especially the swede & lentil bake - I love swede. Lardyvegan, that is really interesting, because every time I try to eat vegan fish is the one thing I miss, isn't that strange.

I will have a search and look at Jenni's site, thanks. I think what I'm looking for mostly is quick & easy lunches, and then one-pot spicy things for the evening.
