Hello from Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Post: # 188292Post oneof5 »

Hello to everyone,

I found this website in search for, how to brew real ginger beer. We do live in the city limits, however, have a small plot of land and garden starting every spring and some of our milder winters allow us to garden cooler crops. I would love to have some chickens but haven't gone there yet. I did build a mud oven from red clay and sand, to bake bread, pizza and other things that can be baked. That has drawn a lot of interest from family and friends and baking our own bread and making our own pizza has been wonderful! I would soon like to build an outdoor brick oven for wood fired baking as well. At this point and time, in waiting for spring to be able to get outdoors, I am brewing my first batch of wine. :sunny:

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free

It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Oh if I had had to wait on my husband to build me an outdoor oven, I wouldn't have one. I bought a book on how to make your own mud oven and went from there. Fortunately I did this before my kids hit the teens and was excited about helping. All the materials are pretty much free, so it cost very little to make. Now there is a website where you can get the instructions on how to build a brick oven. That is my next project. Not waiting on my husband for that one either. :study:
