darn sun burn....

.....but i have all my flower pots planted up :)
todays job is to get all those herbs planted after finally getting a delivery of compost. my dig in seeds came today as well so im going to get some of those planted in the veg/orange boxes from the greengrocers. really need to go pick up some more later as they are much better than plastic pots and look really cool, well i think they do anyway  now i just need to find somewhere to get a few catering cans as being a lover of all things a bit different i thought id plant some up and stand some of my house plants in them. makes a change from the usual terracotta effect plastic!

hows everyone getting on with the sudden change in weather! i swear last week it was still winter and boom! we have spring

and to top it off i have actually reached the bottom of the washing pile, something i never thought would happen....EVER :salute:

You've just inspired me to run upstairs and grab the washing basket - I love line dried laundry!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

first batch of dandelion flower oil is made  loved it last year and it didnt flare up my dry skin! also means i have taken care of the flowers before they seed

if you want to make it, simply fill a jar full of the flowers, cover with olive oil and replace the lid, you dont need the expensive extra virgin for this :-P leave to steep in the oil for a week or two giving it a good shake every now and again. the oil will turn a yellow ish shade after a while.

has lots of uses, there are a few here. i stick a teaspoon in the bath as i cant use the usual bubble baths. just have to be careful as it makes the bath slippy.

and maybe something a little more interesting for you to try with aprils prolific flowers' !

Never heard of that! Only the jam that my neighbour made but it isn't very nice quite honestly. Probably better as a home remedy.

It's funny what effect the sun has on us......

Knowing that this weekend was going to be good, I had all sorts of projects lined up on my 'to-do' list, the list gets bigger & bigger & every time I complete a project, I swear 4 more appear!
So, after hubby hit the snooze button for the 4th time this morning, I got up & made coffee - he stayed where he was & hit the snooze button twice more..... :angryfire:

So by 8.05am I was at the local supermarket, most of the shop lights were still turned off & I had the whole place to myself  Out of there & back home by 8.30am.... washing hung out that I did overnight, & then I went out to start on the construction of 2 walk-in plastic cover greenhouses...... and just before 1pm they are both finished! Yay!
I bought 2 of the plastic frame polytunnels last year, but when they arrived, the guy had sent out these piddly little greenhouse things (5ft x 4ft) - we made an arrangement for me to keep them with a hefty discount & he sent out the correct poly's.... and I only realised this morning that he never contacted me again for payment of the greenhouses anyway - bonus!!
So I have dug the trenches, screwed the frames to 9x1 boards, buried the plastic bottoms & boards, & can now start using them...... my windowsills will be ever so grateful
Right..... what's next on the list......
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

Bloody Cork bods.... think they're in a different time zone to the rest of us......

MMM - he's well out of bed, left for work at 7.10am (so WHY put the bloody alarm on for 5.45am??)
Still, I only have tomorrow morning with the snooze button & then he's off to work in Dublin for a whole week - oh, happy days!!
