Fish Blood and Bone

Post: # 194676Post citizentwiglet »

For example....

Probably a stooooopid question, but when I am out looking for an organic plant food, why is it that the instructions are always written in gobbledeegook? It's always 'mix X amount per sq metre', when I only have a couple of bloody tubs. I never was any good at sums. The 'mix one capful into 4.5l of water' I can just about manage, under supervision, but that's only any good for liquid feeds, and I can't find a liquid, organic feed in the shops (and I don't have a lidded bucket yet to brew anything ghastly).

Is there are very easy method of scaling down these measurements? Preferably something along the lines of 'scatter a bit of this stuff merrily on your pots'? Or does anyone have any ideas for a water-soluble feed for potatoes grown in sacks (First Earlies)?

Muchly thanking you on the behalf of the most wonderous nation of My Back Yard. xx

bloody hell ct, are you supposed to follow the instructions I don't think I've ever even read them.

I vaguely recall Geoff Hamilton saying something like a handful of BF+B to a trugful of compost - how big's the trug? :dontknow:

I just scatter by the handful - doesn't a lot of it get washed down when you water anyway. As long as you don't go overboard I'm not sure it matters that much.
