Crosne tubers were stored in a garden soil, filled pot to overwinter outdoors. The tubers were in excellent condition, and some had sprouted, indicating that they could probably be planted in April in Zone 5. One twenty four foot row was planted about seven inches apart, and two inches deep. Row spacing from other plants was eighteen inches, since the growing tubers spread underground.

Crosne do not store well out of ground. For storage they should be covered with soil in a cool place. They make an excellent snack food, similar to radish without the bite.
