Can I feed chickens parsnip foliage?

Do you keep livestock? Having any problems? Want to talk about it, whether it be sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, bees or llamas, here is your place to discuss.

Can I feed chickens parsnip foliage?

Post: # 196556Post scallywag »

Hey,

I'm just about to harvest last autumn's parsnips. They have plenty of healthy foliage. Can the chicks eat this? I've read that parsnip foliage can irritate skin, so thought I'd check.

cheers for any help.

Whereas I always grow Parsley Berliner... which gives you the flat leaf parsley top & a parsnip root - perfect for ALL of us!!
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

They pecked at it once or twice then turned their beaks up, so "No" it seems...

Thanks for the comments.
