Hello! I'm a newbie!

Post: # 197901Post crickett1234 »

Just found this rather wonderful place whilst doing a search for self-sufficiency. It is something I have been interested in for ages and ages (as a rather overfull bookshelf full of books testifies!) and hubby and I are making an effort to become more self-sufficient.

I look forward to seeing you about the forum and as I wander about.

Wow, what a welcome! Thanks very much. :) It is nice to see other Nottingham bods around here! I reside in Kirkby in Ashfield, and hubby was born and bred here, but I am more of a gypsy and don't really come from anywhere!! Becks77, I was singing at Southwell Minster last Saturday. Southwell is a gorgeous place.

Now, must go off and explore some more!

Thanks for the welcome folks.

Hi

Southwell is one of my favouritist places! We are SE of Nottingham and also luv going to Stamford, Newark.
We are in Pork Pie territory (which of course I do not eat for obviouse reasons) here and its great to be nr so many cheese makers, farmers markets and glorious countryside.
Muddy Puddles is our favourite episode!

Oh, I love Stamford and Newark too. I used to live in between Grantham and Newark, and used to love going into Newark on the bus. Mostly because I went to school in Grantham...and it was a bit of a dive!

I know Kirkby - my family live nearby (just outside Chesterfield) and my mother knows every factory shop in north Notts because she used to work in Sutton. So whenever I visit I'm taken on epic trips round obscure places, tracking down bargain cardigans (she loves cardigans.) I'm jealous of your factory shops, I never got used to not having any in Cambridge and having to pay full price for things like tights and knickers!

(Sorry, that was a bit off-topic. Welcome, lovely to meet you! )

Susie, my MiL is the same! She loves hunting down the bargains in the factory shops. She is like a bloodhound! Only more effective, and has smaller ears! lol!

Thanks for the welcome Muddywitch!
