Welcome Johnnie,

I won't write any German as I got a rather pathetic grade in it at school. I just didn't like the tutor, so I lost interest!

Glenniedregon...I spent my childhood running up and down Butser Hill! A great place for wearing out children with exercise. My mum has a 'thing' about hill forts, fossils and stoneage flints and tools, so we were there quite a lot as we lived in Hampshire!
If in doubt ~ use a hammer!

I know where you're coming from Shiney, OH has a thing about hill forts too! he takes eldest son to the top and asks how he would attack if he was the Romans! (that was Maiden castle)..........not so much a Napoleon complex, more of a Vespasian Complex!

kind thoughts
Deb

Heat wave? Wait till the freezing cold we've got today gets down your way! Saying that, I've been powerwashing today - that's even more effective than water pistol super soakers!

Schön means, literally, beautiful. However, in this context it's more an emphasis on the "guten Tag" bit... So, like - "a very good morning/evening to you"!

(Schönen is just a different grammatical form...)
