Anyone know any local willow workers?

Post: # 198720Post happyhippy »

Hi I live in Wiltshire and I am looking for a willow arch for my back garden.I have looked in the usual places such as ebay but the only ones I have found are metal with willow which I don't want.I just want a natural willow arch to go over my pathway.Does anyone know any that are local to me?Many thanks in anticipation!xx

My neighbour has made arches - but he works in Hazel not willow. Am sure I've seen courses on it though.

Am not sure how long they last, we're in Ludgershall (far east wilts). I'll ask if he'll be making any, but he seems pretty busy with other work just now.
Do you have any thatchers nearby? They use hazel spars to fix the thatch, and whoever supplies them may be doing other work with hazel, or you would likely see one at a country show. Look out for 'hurdle makers'
