Couldn't believe my eyes tonight while walking the dogs - Carol said she thought she'd spotted some Dryads Saddle earlier in the day and took me to have a look. A MOOSEive amount. Took the lot as I couldnt get to the tender specimens - 14 pounds in weight all told - The woody tough ones went in the compost and after de stalking the tender specimens we've enough for three good meals - umm sliced and fried in garlic day one, risotto day two and deep fried day three i think.
I'll turn into a mushroom!!

Most impressive. There is nothing like the pleasure of finding a bunch of mushrooms in the wild. Time and space disappear for awhile in the excitement. Many are also most photogenic.

Wow! They look smashing! Well done! I think i spotted my first Dryad's saddle a week or two ago, but it was too old to be any good! Keeping an eye on that spot now though..... : )
