Now see here, Flib - I'm convinced that you're leaning at a different angle to the house. It's no good blaming Sophie - explain yourself.

Could be the effects of the wine we had with dinner, I suppose.

That's brilliant, could I book lessons with Sophie? What SLR? Three hours is amazing, it takes me that to thread the machine! pbf.

WOW! It's lovely.

You are clever. Out of interest, where did you learn to sew? Did you learn from someone in your family? Or at school?

Only I did textiles for about three terms at school, and the only things I have ever made - a pair of pyjama bottoms - are a long standing family joke (because you can't walk in them).

Well done though, it is fab! :flower:

my mum taught me basics when I was little, but I never really did much other than sew on the odd button before i got a sewing machine when soph was about a year old... i tried learning on that but as it was a 1930s russian foot pedal machine converted to electric in the 1960s, it wasn't easy. then i bought my own machine which broke, then i was given my Jones. basically I play with it a lot, see a technique I like and practise it etc; thi is my first proper shirring.

PBF: Canon EOS400D, my pride and joy lol.

The internet is a small place!?! I tend to read more on there than post, get lots of ideas though. I had a Jones too, nice machines, mine was my Mum's but on to a second hand Pfaff now. Inheriting my Gran's old singer which is an industrial machine.

Lovely dress Mrs Fibble, I've been thinking about making something like that, they are a flattering shape, but I keep chickening out.
