WOW I'm Actually Alive!!!

Post: # 20068Post green-girl »

Yipes, I think I've been away from here for over 6 months! So much has happened it's ridiculous, but I'm hoping to be back on track now!

Is Nev still about??

Cheers,

Hi Shirlz - nice to meet you too!

MMM- yeah that was me  In amongst that time off I've moved to 'the big city' which is a big change for me. Finally got out of working in an office though - that was a long awaited change!

Needless to say, at this stage, I don't have a single plant under my care (probably lucky for the plant I say  ). I'm dying to get one started, but I'm waiting to get my own place hopefully early next year before I start anything major... might start a little garden or container garden though.... will see how I go...

So what's the latest news around here??

So many news... SSish has been in the public eye several times, mentioned in papers etc. There's now t-shirts with the logo, and bags are on the way. Member numbers have soared (due to all that publicity!). You can now watch SSish on film (I can't, because of this strange PC  ).

No plant in your life at all? You should at least get yourself some herbs in pots for the kitchen windowsill... I always felt I'd only really moved into a new place, even if it was just a room in a shared flat, once I'd put my first plant down. :flower:

Thanks everyone so much for the warm reception!!!

Alas, I have not a single plant at present (well, edible that is - there are numerous other plants here, but for decorative purposes only).... but I'm going to work on that! I promise! My ultimate goal is to buy myself a place by this time next year and then turn the whole back yard into all edibles - my own little piece of self-sufficientish heaven (pardon the pun! LOL)... I'll keep you all posted on the progress! :P

That's so fantastic to hear about the publicity! YAY! But tell me more about 'watching'?????

As for the jobs... well I coach gymnastics and sports acro. I'm loving that. I needed to take a second job (just a sales assistant in a shop) to make up hours because the coaching doesn't make a full-time job.... At first I was only getting about 18 hours a week coaching... I'm up to 28.5 hours now!

So now I've taken on too much again and my health is slowly deteriorating for it - so I'll be looking at probably dropping the 2nd job all together in the future. I don't make as much money doing what I'm doing now, but I'm so much happier. Poor or not, I'd rather be happy in my work than miserable! Don't you all agree?

I fully agree! I could be earning more elsewhere, too - but this is just fine for me.

Anyway, watching SSish: Go on the index page, up top, under "other projects".

G'day Green-girl and it's great to see you back with us!

I travel with work and was in Brissy most of the week. Yes it is important to be happy in what you do, I have been driven slowly insane in the past doing jobs I hated, but with a wife and kids to support there was little choice.

Things are nuch better these days though...........

Look after yourself and keep coming back to spend time with us.

Welcome back g-girl

If you look under my signature there is a link to watching SSish. The T-shirts I have quietly withdrawn as they were much more trouble than they were worth and not organic or fairtrade (which I would have prefered). Still was nice of Jessica to put some together for us.

Definate yes to being poor but happy, I am temping full time hours again at the moment, nice to have money again but I am seariously looking for part time work. The allotment and this site should be my full time job

Good to hear from you Nev!

Yeah... the joys of working.... I'm seriously considering losing the 2nd job now. I'm just so exhausted. Yesterday, I had to pack and relocate an entire shop of stock and furniture with only one other person to help. I managed to bruise many parts of my body - even my lower back by falling heavily on a piece of furniture

In truth, I think I'm clumsy because I'm so exhausted. I just have to get the guts up and actually resign... I feel bad cos the people are so nice.. :? But continuing in this capacity is gonna put me in an early grave I reckon!

Thanks Andy - it's good to be back!

I'll give myself a little while to settle down again, pay off some big bills, then of course quit my 2nd job, then I'll get right back into my ssish attempts - I still gotta learn how to grow a small but productive garden... and keep it alive! LOL I don't have a very good track record, I must admit!

I wish it was a possibility straight away - but it's just not.... :? Just like the course I'm dying to take... not gonna happen in the immediate future :( Oh well... Rome wasn't built in a day

Cheers,

Green-Girl :flower:

PS - I tried to watch SSish, but computer was taking too long, so I gave up LOL I'll try again some other time.... and D'oh about the shirt!
