Late planting

Post: # 206315Post Susiwaa »

Helloo!

okay, we ordered some baby plants to arrive in June. Due to popular demand the arrived last week!! I think they may have forgotten our order but anyway.

So, we planted things - carrots, beetroot and salad mainly.

What are their chances?

We live in the M8 corridor in Scotland and at the moment its still warm but a tad wet!!

How long will they need before they may be harvestable?

There is also a squash plant which is in a tub inside the kitchen as I decided that was too risky to plant outside - was that a good idea?

Any thoughts, suggestions or tips gratefully received!

Hope you've got plenty of room in you kitchen - they're very long plants  It might be a bit late, although I'm not sure - you don't sow them til early summer so depending on it's size and type it might be OK. The rest should be OK though you can harvest them up to autumn, again depending on their type, the weather and you're particular growing conditions.

You might have a chance with the beetroot and salad, but I would have thought in Scotland you will soon need to rig up some sort of cloche to give them a chance.
