Grow your own drugs...James Wong
Grow your own drugs...James Wong
As a rule I cant stand coffee table books, and this one had quite an alarming title, but it's quite interesting and some of you may have seen the tv program(I didn't).Mr. Wong describes the making of several useful balms and medicines, apparently conkers can be helpful for treating piles(that doesn't involve sitting on them, but making some sort of ointment). So a fairly useful tome, but here's the good bit...£2 from the remainder stall.

i have to agree with you - i have both of the 'grow your own drugs books' and so many of the ideas i have used successfully the newest book has a fantastic hair wax and it works and has saved me a fortune this summer alone. the bath bombs are kid friendly and the chicken noodle soup with loads of garlic, onions, chilli, ginger ( and i add a can of sweetcorn) is a fantastic pick me up when you have flu - and the dreaded Man Flu

I enjoyed the series on television... i found it gave me lots of ideas. Another good book but more recipes/concoctions for your garden rather than yourself, is this one:

I have it as an eBook PDF - very good.

It was new, there were loads of them!(I wouldn't pay 2 quid for a second hand book) I've read a bit more of it now,and I think I may have paid too much...............

Oh that's cheap! £2 for a 2nd hand hardback is very cheap too, but then I live in France and we've paid €4 for 2nd hand paperbacks in English here.

A books price is worth what it is to the reader ... it content and condition ... I think £2 is a fair price ...mind you having said that we have a book stall at Bridgnorth on a Saturday that sell new and expensive books for two quid ... you just have to take what on the stall hat day ... sometimes I need a wheelbarrow to get them to our car ...

The basic idea's good - but I'm still working out how to grow my own papaya and mango. I'll tell you when I succeed.

I watched the program and got the book. I didn't make much with it so far, but there are lots of nice things to try when we get sick. I just didn't get the right sickness yet....
