My sister in law used to eat worms apparently, and drink from puddles .. but I don't think she does now she's a grandmother.

Eating slugs ought to be more environmental friendly - no shells to put in landfills.

I remember seeing a program way back with some people eating some seriously crazy stuff and there was that restaurant in one of the Asian country, Japan or Korea maybe where they ate very large earth worms. It was served like a plate of pasta... I suspect you end up eating lots of earth with those worms!! I will stick to the snails I think, just once in a while though....

as for eating worms i can say they have no real flavour but are loaded with protein

Me too, I love whelks but not so keen on snails, although I have eaten them.

When I was at primary school (a couple of years ago) we had a lesson on France and it was mentioned that they eat snails. At break time a girl found a snail and ate it there and then, all slimy and still alive. We, the onlookers were well impressed.
To the best of my knowledge she at least made it into adulthood.

Our snails seem to keep ending up in the pond...I think they either are learning to swim (and failing miserably!!) or the birds are dropping the shells after eating them! T
