Turnip tops?
Stupid question I know, but they look so good. But are they poisonous or edible?

Oh yes, quiet nice too, along with beetroot tops. Tend to be earthy like swiss chard....because swiss chard is in the same family as them.

So you know how great Salsify is as a veg, what about Cavero Nero, great leaves all through the winter , then in Spring sprouting broccolli like flowers! Takes up half as much room as broccolli

Nope, it has a more fibrous root system - the leaves are the edible bits!

Turnip tops (otherwise known as turnip greens) are at their best when eaten young and go particularly well with pork, especially salt pork or offal (jowls, hocks, trotters etc).
I'd post a couple of recipes but I have to do dinner now, but if you google "turnip greens pork recipe" you should find plenty. Simple recipes are usually best for turnip greens.
