Hi Al, I hope you're not feeling too sore at the momentBig Al wrote: Take care,
BA....

A spot of web surfing is probably just the ticket for you, though I'd say!
I got your PM, but you have yours disabled, so I couldn't reply!!
Anyway.... my reply was going to be.... It is very very kind of you - except there is one fatal flaw pointed out to me by hubby... we don't have a TV aerial!!

When we moved in, because we have woods on 2 sides of us, the TV picks up from the other side of the woods - BUT the satellite aerial thingy is in front of us, so Sky TV & our satellite internet works fine - terrestrial TV doesn't. So Andy took the aerial off the roof, as it was really just there for show!
Rest up & relax & get as fit as you can, as fast as you can.

I'll get onto it tomorrow. Thanks for the comments about my latest fal I'm used to them now but the fun lately is seeing a 20 stone bowling ball flying down stairs in a shopping centre nearly getting a full strike of pedestrians, lol.

Just a quick update,
I've only just got to do something on this and I have sent emails to the real seed co and garden organics outlining what we plan. I suspect that the response from GO will not be favourable as the site says members get a discount of 10% but anyone can buy at full price. Also they only offer advice to paid up members but we will see what comes back.
I'll look for some other siters / companies in the coming days etc.
Take care
big Al.

I've had a reply from Reel seeds and they are offering 10% discount on orders over £200. This discount is in the form of vouchers of the next order.
I haven't heard back yet from GO but please read my post above.
Take care,
Alan

It's very kind of you to be doing this Big Al. There doesn't seem to be much of a response though does there?

I only posted last night about the discount from Real Seeds so there is time for this thread to be read. In general I reckon it's ecconomic times and so forth MMM that is killing of peoples enthusiasm. I'll be ordering from real seeds soon, as in a few weeks or when I have the money so if anyone wants to add their order onto mine then they will be welcome.
I would like to think that I want to grow my own food for all the benefits of food miles or food feet, organic produce, bountiful harvests. However the real senario is that I can't afford to eat a lot of shop bought fruit and veg and organic fruit and veg is just a dream from the shops.
I feel that I have to scrabble around in the dirt like some bloody ethiopian on food rations just to make ends meet when the likes of HRH Prince willy's wedding is being rammed down my throat as a rolling new media story.
I'll keep bumping this thread for a week or so and then give a date as to when I'm ordering my seeds and if anyone wants to join in then they are welcome.
Another thing that did impress me with real seeds co is the abillity to save seeds of which there is massive amounts of info on their pages which ties in with another idea I wanted to get going in that it is a seed swap.
If people want to order with me then next year if we all save seeds then we can swap seeds amongst us as well as any purchases but to work properly and fairly it would need to be members who bought from real seeds in order to garuntee non hybrid seeds.
Anyway, rant over off to school to do a candle making demo for the business unit.......

Re: An Ish Club?
I think it's a brilliant idea, especially from Real Seeds rather than Marshalls - problem is I've already got most of my seeds for next year, and some!
It needs some thinking about - it's OK for people who are organised and can get an order in on time - I'm generally not one of those
What we really need is for a seed company to "adopt" Ish - I think it would be a symbiotic relationship - they get our members loyalty (?) and we get a discount. Then you could put your order in whenever and still benefit and it wouldn't be down to one person doing all the donkey work.

Re: An Ish Club?
I've contacted kate at real seeds and they have looked at trying to offer some sort of general discount to groups such as schools etc but there is a lot of work involved in the idea not least in the IT department and whilst Ben at real seeds is their i"IT" department he still has to do his share if the digging because there are only three people at RS. So the idea of adopting the ish site is not feasable
What Kate has sugested is maybe a seed circle such as here on their site http://www.realseeds.co.uk/seedcircle.htm .
So the next idea, or progression of this one is to look at this link above and then ask if we want a seed circle? for next year. I'm happy to act as co ordinator and do the collecting and resending of the seed to members and also the offer of piggybacking on my real seeds order is still on offer. My RS order will probably be going in around Saturday the 27th of November......ish.
