I shop via honesty boxes, my local health food / greengrocer and my Organic Butchers every week and spend around about the same amount as I would in a Supermarket for and I certainly don't come home with half of the crap I used to just because it's there on the shelf.

I'm afraid that growing your own vegetables and meat, baking your own bread and generally behaving with half an eye to the general wellbeing of the planet and those who occupy scares the bejesus out of these people.
Almost as much as gypsies turning up on the village green do.
They deserve more pity than censure, not least because it might annoy them more.
