picking up 2 sebastopol geese tomorrow

getting excited.
Anyone know about their care? I was planning on treating the same as ducks.

We've kept a fair few geese over the years,but not sebastopols,though A woman I was doing some P/T work for,had a pair,fancy looking devils.They shouldn't thinkthey will be as prolific as other geese ,or everyone would have them,but this lady kept them the same way as we did.I'm sure you know how to keep domestic geese,ask if you don't,or read the Chris Ashton book.Good Luck with them .(far superior to a burglar alarm).

If they're the same price over there as they are here,you'd be better off having christmas dinner in the Ivy!

hmm, well this might shortest ever amount of time we have ever owned an animal. the plan was let them out, give them some food and lt them get used to their new surroundings. Instead they ran off at full speed went through three fences and headed next door. I jumped in the car to try and head them off, but they went accross country. The locat terrrain is covered in scrub and it is 20km before the next house. So no chance of finding them and catching them.
I can only hope they get fed up and start walking in the opposite direction as there is no source of water for them there.

That sounds pretty disasterous! Hope you can find them.Geese are pretty flighty especially until they get settled,as a rule we would move them in crates and leaqve the crate in a shed,then get them used to the shed etc.etc. but I guess you've figured that out for yourself.With a bit of luck,and a few extra bodies you should find them.Best Wishes.
