I am currently in my 3rd year doing a Graphic Design degree and I am in the process of designing a set of symbols to be used on Ordnance Survey maps. These are foraging symbols and for example, I could design one that is a berry, which would indicate on a map where raspberries can be found.
However I need to narrow the symbols down to 4 or 5 categories, and this is where I need help!
I was wondering if any experienced foragers could help me by listing down 4 to 5 categories of what can be foraged. For example at the moment I am thinking that it could be Fruit, vegetables and mushrooms. However I know it is broader than this, so any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Research Help!
Hey Im a designer by trade too. Best of luck with the assignment.
I think you may need something for leafy finds and herbs like Fat Hen, Ramsons and nettles. Not sure vegetables cover this.
I think an acorn would be a strong graphic for nuts.
Be interested to see how you get on, post them up when you're done....
