I thought as much - will ask the council and see what they say. Failing that will collect the seeds later in the year IF I get there before the council mow the verges with their usual heavy handed technique. Surprised ANYTHING survives there.
I'm having trouble with this thread actually - all the text is going right across the page.

I'd love to get my hands on some bulbs, though - I'm sure they'd grow well outside my house, under the trees. Have discovered I've loads more bluebells there than last year; and where they thrive, wild garlic should, too. So if you see some growing there next year, please don't tell anybody!!!

YAY Jo.... looking forward to it!!
Not sure whether D and J will be coming over with me - or not... but they will also be interested in the wild garlic!!!!! Been driving all over the place today collecting freecycle stuff... and not spotted any more at all.
Did pick a few leaves and flowers to use in supper tonight
The car smelt gorgeous after that!

I made a lovely indian-ish cauliflower variant, by boiling cauli until it's just done, heating oil in a pan, and popping some mustard seeds. throwing in the cauli, when the seeds are done (and before they burn - damp cauli should help to lower the temperature quickly if you give the pan a shake), take it all off the heat and put coarsly chopped wild garlic ontop - yummity!
It mildly steams if you put the lid on the pan and leave it for two secs while you serve everything else.
Ingredients
a Cauliflower
mustard seeds
oil
wild garlic

That'll be Moniack Castle near Inverness. They do a lovely range of wines* and it's all real wild-sourced food, gathered by the locals. Had a meal up there on holiday once... wild venison with elderberry sauce and a glass of damson wine. Mmmm...
*prices are ok but of course there's postage to pay. My wine's just as good!

nice one HW - I would like an edible hedge too.
Yes it was the Moniack Castle place... some lovely stuff but out of my price range at the moment - expensive but not overpriced really.
I love the pfaf site - I have used it for a good few years now. LOADS of info.
