Hello from Galway, Ireland!

Post: # 222445Post UpToMyKnees »

Hi everyone!

We discovered this site after seeing the twins on a programme on tv. Then we spotted their book on our friends kitchen table!

We live in Galway, Ireland and will soon be moving to our own 4 acre piece of heaven in an area with lots of hills, mountains and forestry!

We bought the land late last year and it has kept us busy since! There are many years worth of work left in it too!!

At the moment we have two horses, a pony, two chickens, two dogs and a cat. We plan to have pigs for both food for the plate and breeding. We also plan to have lots more chickens. The two we have now are egg layers and we will soon get meat chicken too.

We have a large, 3 quarter acre, piece of our land mapped out for veggies, fruits, herbs and whatever else we can fit in!

My boyfriend has always been a bit 'country'. He's very hands on and loves growing, cooking, gardening, hunting and all things out doorsy. Lucky he's a qualified horticulturalist too!

I'm more of a recent developer in the country department but am getting there! I can't wait to move and really get started! Sometimes I dream of dresses and pretty heels but wellies and wooly jumpers are much more practical!

I hope to learn lots on this forum and who knows?; maybe I'll be able to help others too!

Jen

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Hi there Jen

Sounds like a nice spot you have there. We're in Clare, near Ennis. We might hook up sometime.
