What a lovely thread! And what a very talented bunch of people there are in Ish-land...
Things I can do and am proud of:
stand up in folk clubs across the land and sing, unaccompanied, without people running away
paint pictures well enough to sell some (not many, but it's a start, eh?)
knit and crochet beautiful items for myself and loved ones
cook delicious meals
make tofu
make jams, marmalades, pickles and chutneys
bake
paint a room
hang wallpaper
navigate
drive (learnt when I was in my late 30s, so am quite proud of that one)
speak basic French
turn a manuscript into a book (ie edit/typeset it)
spell (kind of linked to the above)
remember lyrics/tunes/speeches without trying
Things I'd like to do better:
play more than three tunes on my hammered dulcimer (can't believe there's someone else on here who can play one! Also in France...)
make coffee
Things I'm useless at:
anything which involves a sense of balance - so I can't ride a bike, can't roller skate and can't ice skate. I've never tried skiing, as I'm pretty sure I'd be carp at that too...
telling jokes
