Well well well (and a pump)

Post: # 226528Post vancheese »

Dear Nice people

I've discovered on my farm there are two 80m dug wells which were used for irrigation of the fields. These have not been used for a while. I'm an currently revamping my orchard and will be needing a water supply to keep the young tree alive during the hot dry (hopefully!) hungarian summer.
There isn't a pump at the moment but a 3-phase connection next to the wells
I was wondering if people could give me any tips/recommendations/advice re pump size/performance/power/etc as I've no idea and My Hungarian isn't good enough to ask the locals. A link to a few english webpages would be awesome
My other thought was to use a solar powered pump which is attached the open well and let the pump drizzle out water all during the day
I'm interested in the cheapest, best long term solution but there is no urgent rush as most of my land has lots of ground water from the constant rain and melted snow
Thanks for all your help :)

Andy

This looks interesting. (Not cheap, mind!)
