They seem to be back now - on several forums the last post was something like the 7th or 8th June, including one where I knew I'd posted after that myself...
Anyway, I'm having problems with the PC, too, so I never quite know what's going wrong. Am on a different PC now, but that's just sloooooooow.

if your computer is "constipated", it may be an idea to clear your cookies and reboot the system. I long ago gave up in despair with Internet Explorer - it does the most dreadful things with cookies (amongst its manifold sins)
You could try Firefox, its much better written code, runs loads faster, is nicer to use, very secure, good with cookies etc - even on a manky old slow machine!

We've got firefox on here, too - but it always timed me out before I could get into SSish (I thought that was due to our slow satellite connection).
Anyway, our IT helpdesk guy has said he might be able to come down and help me...
(I use a works computer. Would be highly embarrassing if all this trouble was due to me spending so much time on this forum!)

Wooaahh. Wait; we've had this before, and a lot of people suddenly found they'd lost all their auto log-on ability to this and other sites. I can still remember the wails of anguish.Martin wrote:if your computer is "constipated", it may be an idea to clear your cookies
It may be good to have a regular clearout, but make sure you don't delete any cookies that are important to you. Some cookies store your auto logon details. The cookie you need to save for this forum is called 'selfsuffic_forum_data', but be carefull if you use other sites that require saved data too.
For Firefox users, I can recommend the Cookie Culler extension, which allows you to protect certain cookies.
