courgettes
Hi my seedlings have been detroyd in the strong wonds is it too late to direct sow??????
Re: courgettes
It depends a bit on where you are, but I would say it's definitely worth a chance.
They will germinate quickly and grow away fast at this time of year, and as they only take a couple of months to start fruiting, you will get courgettes from August onwards.

You still have a little time, as Odsox says, but I wouldn't direct sow. Sow in good compost and transplant when they have a couple of leaves. That gives them the best of starts more quickly, and they won't know they've been transplanted.

Re: courgettes
Why not buy some young plants from a garden shop? They shouldn't be too expensive and you'll have courgettes much earlier than if you sow seed now.

Re: courgettes
Hi,my courgettes sat and sulked as the weather turned cold and windy as soon as i'd planted them out. They still don't look too happy so i've started off a couple more plants as back-up.They grow so quickly if you start them off indoors I'm sure you'll have courgettes in no time. Where do you live ?
