Riverford veg boxes
Has anyone ever bought a veg/fruit box from 'riverford' ? We are vehicle-less for a while and the only shop within walking distance to us is T***o
so need to keep fed until the garden is in harvest. The only thing I'm worried about is that I'm not sure how much you get, the description just says 'x different types of vegetables', we eat a lot of fruit and veg so I was going to get a medium one (which says it feeds 4+ people) but I was wondering if anyone else has used them and if so how much food you get?

Re: Riverford veg boxes
At the time I was using Riverford I was living alone and I have to say that the one that said it would feed four plus was enough for just me as I also eat a lot of fruit and veg...maybe they've changed their sizes but I would consider the next size up for you and your family

Re: Riverford veg boxes
I'm afraid I'm going to have to give conflicting advice, here, as I've always found the quantities generous. I got the smallest one possible and often found I had too much (the only reason I don't get it any more is that we've moved house). Mind you, my husband doesn't like veg, which makes it quite difficult to include veg-heavy meals in our diet!
I'm not sure how accurate this is, but I'd say it was about a pound of each type of veg. You'd probably get a more reliable answer if you dropped them an email. I always found them very helpful - a properly personal service.

We went for the medium in the end (nice compromise!) so we shall see if it's enough, if not either way then we'll know for next time. Thanks

I think the medium should do it, although there are only two of us, and we managed to get through the lot - but we do eat a lot of veg.
I really like Riverford, it was always top quality veg and a good way of forcing yourself to try new things. I really like their ethos and the recipes they send you with the box were brilliant.

Re: Riverford veg boxes
Hello
I have been getting veg box from riverford for a couple of years now and love them! There is only me here and I tend to alternate between the mini veg and mini fruit and veg box once a week. I have been very pleased with the quality and on the very rare occasion I have been unhappy with the quality of an item I have opted for extra the following week. I also like the fact I can suspend deliveries anytime, holidays or just a glut of veg. All in all I am one happy customer!
I hope you like yours
