weight loss group
Re: weight loss group
Went under 12 stone for a few days then everything came to a stand still. I suspect my metabolism got bored of not being active. I ate a couple of cakes, some crips (my favourite treat) and had a couple of glasses of wine and hey presto the weight started to come off again. In a nice size 12 now and feeling okay. Hoevering around the 12 stone mark but not giving myself a hard time about it.
When I was officially dieting all I seemed to think about was food but now I'm not officially dieting I don't seem to worry about it.
Strange psychology associated with weight loss!

Re: weight loss group
Weighed in at slimming world on wednesday with a nice suprise - 3lbs off this week so now at 11st 10.5, total loss since 6/4/11 is 1st 1.5lbs.
Have been running lots, even when I really don't feel like it - like last night when I got home and every step was like shifting a sack of concrete. Damn that bridesmaid dress!
Think the week was saved by making a huge slowcooker pot full of ratatouille (sp?) and having it with pork chops, mixing with pasta (and a sliver of chorizo) in a bake, whizzing for soup, on jacket spuds and with some giant couscous for work. Mmmmm and it is fat free too.
Have a good week everyone.

Re: weight loss group
I have been "missing" for ages. Mainy because I broke my leg in April and couldn't weigh myself properly a) because i couldn't physically get onto the scales (I did try but ended up flat on my backside and had two very large bruises to show for it for weeks) and b) the plaster cast was never going to give an accurate reading anyway. But, now back in action and I have discovered I have now lost a total of exactly 2 stones since I started this. Still a bit to go but I'm definitely pleased!
Growing old is much better then the alternative!

Re: weight loss group
congratulations to all who have lost. i've gone astray but back into the swing of things. Cutting out sugar and marg / butter and reduced portions worked for me in the beginning so I'll try again this week.

Completley off the rails! What a weekend. Rice pudding, ice-cream, crisps, crisps and more crisps, three bottles of wine, chocolate cake...the list goes on. Back on the diet since Tuesday since the unofficial diet clearly wasn't working. I feel really tired and am sure it is as a result of the junk food binge.

Re: weight loss group
I actually bit the bullet and weighed myself in Boots. 10 stone 7, which is not awful (would like to get down to about 9 1/2 - 9 3/4), BUT I did the 'measuring your body fat' thing as well. 33%! It didn't tell me anything meaningful about whether that is good, bad, or unspeakable, but it sounds a terrible amount. I have started 'running' aka stumbling round the park again and taken up yoga O_O.

1 lb down this week
slow but steady....
weight is going down but i still have an unattractive flabby pot-belly!
any tips for getting rid of this?
(note i am generally not very keen on exercising but realise will have to try something - will certainly not join a gym or do a class! Am otherwise reasonably fit but in my late 50's so dont want anything too strenuous!)

Re: weight loss group
A few tears ago, I noticed my stomach was getting really flat and I hadnt been targeting it specially or anything. What I had been doing was I joined a ramblers' group and walked about 10 miles every Wednesday (the day the club met) for about a year. The wa;lking was hard to start with, but then it got easier and I found it less strenuous. And the benefit was the flat stomach.Marmalady wrote:1 lb down this week

Sadly I had to stop (work reasons) and my stomach is like a muffin now

Anyway, for what it's worth, I have a qualification in walking for fitness, so if you want to give it a go but need help starting, give me a shout.

Big Al - I fell off the bangwaggon.. so now back..
Have been on course for the last week now - no sugar, no white flour, no spuds, no tea. Going well as lost 5lbs in the two weeks to date. Current weight is 17st 5lbs.
Targe of 13s 6lbs by mid winter (Dec 21st 2011).. a goal I really want to work to.

Re: weight loss group
Oh noo.. I have had two really bad weeks, was feeling a bit poorly and basically ate everything in sight - haven't been running since the 11th May. Put on 1/2lb on the first week and am too scared to weigh myself this week - I have eaten pizza, bread bread bread, custard, crumble, EVERYTHING!
The hardest thing is recouping after a gain and getting back a positive state of mind. I keep trying to remind myself that it is the long game that counts.
Am forcing myself for a run now. Good luck everyone!
