We live deep in rural Ireland, right? Every other living thing is a cow/sheep..... every other property is a farm, every 3rd vehicle in the supermarket/pub/church car park is a tractor..... You don't get much more 'country' than this.
So, I have a lady who comes every week for her eggs. She has veg from me when it's there & has the occasional chook or duck for the oven. Nice lady, born & bred in these parts, 38yr old housewife, immaculate hair, immaculate nails, fake orange tan - a typical Irish colleen...

So last week she also brought her daughter along to see the lambs, well now they're just about rams, but still cute & love huggles.
They also came in to see some of the new chicks.... and 'ooh' & 'aah' over the ducklings with our broody hen, Mama Cass.
Then the question came.... "Do hens have the same sort of milk as ducks then"????

So today.... she's back.
And she wants advice.
Apparently, I've inspired her so much that she went out & bought 3 lovely expensive glazed strawberry planters, set them on her patio, spent a fortune on compost, strawberry plants & strawberry food. Still no strawberries though & she doesn't think she will get any.

So I show her my strawb patch - a clapped out clam shell sand pit that served as a duck bath until it cracked last winter.... and a heap of old pots drilled & hung up by old string in the poly house.....
"Oh!" says she.... "Do you not deadhead the flowers then? I have been doing so..."

Next week, I am going out...... and every Thursday after that......
