Hello All

Post: # 246804Post countrybumkin »

Hello All,

I'm new to the forum thought i'd say hello, i'm living in rural Shropshire trying to be as self sufficient as possible, seem to have cracked the veg growing but hoping to expand into livestock. I've had chickens before but would like to have a few more animals roaming around and also hope to get some hints and tips from all you lovely people,

Kathryn

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Hello and Welcome. I hope you get as much support, encouragement and advice as I have over the years.
How much ground do you have? and what are your current thought on choice of livestock? Do you have experience of any? Not that I can help I'm just interested. But I do know people who went down the Lamas and Ostriches route.

Hello Kathryn and welcome from an ex-Shropshire lass (not originally though, lived at RAF Cosford) who now lives in Orkney  .

Hello

I've got a sizeable vegetable plot and greenhouse with a quarter of an acre field next to it, i've had chickens a couple of years ago but that's it. I had a baby a year back so we downsized everything a bit while i was expecting but he's 14 months now and i would love to get some more chickens and maybe some ducks and geese and get him into helping me with them and the veggies. Wish i had the room for Llamas and Ostriches as my little boy loves anything with fur and feathers

I've already had some good reply's from a post i put up, the advice and knowledge I've received already has been invaluable and have been reading various post's put up by others and have had some good hints and tips

Just would like to say thanks to all for making me feel so welcome xx
