The fleabay queen may have been toppled!

Post: # 252998Post Green Aura »

I have to hang my colours to the mast - I love fleabay.

Living in such a remote area it allows me to buy items, almost always secondhand, from all over the UK. And apart from my perennial beef about courier rip off charges to this area I generally have no complaints.

But I've met my match! I purchased a set of kitchen units for its minimum price, there was no reserve and obviously no other bids, I needed to co-ordinate a few pick ups to justify the fuel (to Leicester). So I contacted him to arrange this.

This was his response
Dear -----------,

Im not selling for that price that was a minimum, Im not a registered charity. So forget it.

The man is quite clearly nuts so I'm happy not to drive the 600 miles to face him. My problem is that Ebay just will not let me report him! Any ideas? :dontknow:

I thought the minimum price was the one that you were prepared to sell for if you couldn't sell for anything more! Surely ebay have a rule about this???? Fancy picking me up on the way to face the numptyfkmuppet - I could do with a laugh!

Well he won't be getting any more Paul.

Strangely I'm more cross with Eb*y - they've blocked every avenue I have for complaining and it's impossible to speak to a real person. :banghead:

It's my understanding he can refuse to sell it to you and there's little you can practically do except give feedback reflecting the situation. I don't agree with this but I always thought that's how it worked. Sorry!

I cannot remember the full quote but it's something like.

Ebay allow an item to be withdrawn up to twelve hours before the end of the sale after that it's got to be sold. He will still be charged seller fees because otherwise every seller (and I am one) coUld say they weren't selling when they had been paid by cheque or cash independent of the Ebay system just to avoid the fees. Hope you left him negative feedback and poor star ratings. A dispute could have been opened but probably wouldn't achieve anything except cause you stress. Better to warn everyone else about him. Renaging on an auction sale is not going to make people bid for his stuff
Just because you see two eyes shining in the jungle at night, do not think that the worse thing that could happen is that you are about to be attacked by a tiger. It could be two one-eyed tigers.
