Henri Becquerel - discovered radiation and won the Nobel Prize for Physics. (I studied physics a long time ago, but never took it anywhere).

Actually, it's quite interesting as my ancestry has a very large chunk of Highland Scots, a slightly smaller chunk of Lowland Scots, a large chunk of Tipperary Irish, a large chunk of Swedish, and smaller chunks from Cornwall, Wales, Lincolnshire and Sussex. There's also a trace of French (coming down one of the Scots lines). Throw that all together, stir briefly and you get moi.
