SEXY REPORT.

Post: # 13526Post john »

:mrgreen:Hi Shirlz 2005 Andy and Ina,I thought I would leave it a while just to see if anyone else had something to say about the sexy report.

I was not telling porky pies,it was a true report in our local free news paper. At least 3 of you thought it was funny enough to talk about,as me and my wife could not stop laughing when we read it our selves, which I thought I would share with all the people who visit my topic.
It just goes to prove there's nothing sexy about recycling or re-using something, when only 3 of you replied.
It was suggested I did a poll on the subject, should I ask,are you better at recycling at home, or are you better at recycling away from home, and how many times do you do it,I wonder how many people would reply to that    .John. JRP.

A POSITIVE INTEREST SHOWN IN MY IDEA.

Post: # 18595Post john »

 Hi every one who visits this topic,I'm pleased to inform you that I have a very special person comeing to see me,and my allotment plot on the 10th May 2006,which was designed by me to grow food to eat, made from waste plastic containers and unwanted wooden pallets.
NO it's not someone who represents Royalty. NO it's not someone who is in Government in the UK or adroad. NO it's not someone from the Council. NO it's not someone who represents a Charity,or School or anyone from the Environment network,or Waste management,or someone who's Famous either, and it's not some one who's related to me.or from the Media,or someone with loads of Money.
YES,it's a lady who was 60 on the 24th of April 2006,and who is the loving mother of 9 children who wants to come and see me personally to talk and see what I have been telling people about, which every one can do too if they use my very simple to make transportable water recycling system to grow things to eat.
This I think is great as she also lives in Greenwich in South East London which is the same borough I live in,which I hope after our meeting she will tell lots others about in a positive way on my behalf. Plus I'm going to show about another 30 old folk on the 15th May 2006 my way of growing things, which they will also do too as part of a Age Concern day, which I was asked to do last week when I visited our local community centre.
Thank you very much for reading my message as it means a lot to me when someone shows so much positive interest in the way I do things.
May you and yours live long and happy. John. JRP.

MEETING PEOPLE WHO LIKE MY IDEAS.

Post: # 20157Post john »

 Hi All,I'm pleased to inform you that I have met another positive thinking lady who's in direct contact with lots of people, who is going to help to spead the word on my behalf after me showing her and 38 other people my way of growing things,at a Community Centre in Abbeywood South East London on the 15-5-2006 to do with Age Concern.
Every body in the building was very inpressed with how simple my system was to make, and use, that they all said they will tell others and get in contact with me again so that I can show others too in the future,it's all happening,I think the ball is rolling at last with so many people saying they like my idea, only time will tell as you know some people say one thing and do another, but If they tell one person that's ok with me,as that one person might tell someone else.
What a great start to this month meeting one lady and now meeting others who are going to help me too.
To the future way of doing things together. John. J.R.P.

ALL IS NOT LOST,we believe I'm on tomorrow.

Post: # 20225Post john »

  Hi ALL again, all is not lost as we believe I'm on tomorrow the 18-5-2006 at 6pm,because it's to do with eccentric people which I suppose I am to some people. If I'm not on we have missed it too, never mind it might be repeated again in the future,we will have to wait and see, fingers crossed. John. J.R.P.

I'M SORRY IF I WASTED YOUR TIME.

Post: # 20297Post john »

 :( I'm sorry, but it was not on today as we thought it might be. All I can say is the programme is on again next week, and that Tuesday and Thursday have something to do with using, space,or gardening. Apart from that we don't know when it's on either. It just said The Secret of Suburbia, which I did back in June 2005. Thank you once again for showing your interest in what I'm doing, fingers crossed it's on next week. John. J.R.P.

I WAS ON TV.

Post: # 21637Post john »

  Hi ALL,I was on at 6pm on the 23-5-2006,and again on the 24-5-2006 at 6am,which I thought would have shown more about the way I do things after spending nearly the whole day filming, but 10 minutes was allowed for each section of the programme, which after editing changed the context of what I said to fit what some people are like, who like to be so different it became laughable, which I did not know about when I said they could help me to promote me and my ideas.
For a start my name is Pendergast not P(r)endergast. I live in Eltham in Greenwich not Dartford in Kent, and when I said that I can grow things in the desert, this was said in the context of an example along with other ways. And for me to say that no matter what happens I will not give up my re-use of waste project, was said when I had most of the old folk allotment plot holders against what I was using my allotment plot for,and they were doing things to try and get me off it in many different ways, which I'm pleased to say has died down now. Apart from that it did show me and some of my ideas off to others which someone might have found of interest, which we enjoyed anyway, which I hope others did too. John. J.R.P.

PERMACULTURE?

Post: # 25427Post john »

 Hi ALL,for those who are interested in what I'm doing,I went on the internet and I found someone who might be able to help me spread the word,as most of what I do involves Premaculture in one way or another. He's a Mr Graham Burnett at www.spiralseed.co.uk. who I sent a e-mail to the other day,I'm waiting for a reply. I think I can now call my self an expert on Permaculture on what I've read so far. you might like to visit his website to find out more. May you and yours live long and happy.John. J.R.P.

Graham's a great bloke; he might even be a member here, not sure, but I've seen him about on a couple of Forums.

I had a part in a documentary in the Secret Life of Suburbia strand; a woman came up to me int he pub garden last night and shouted "You're the woman off the tele............!!!!"

I never got to see any of the rest as we don't have Sky.

FINDING SOMEONE TO CHAMPION MY CAUSE?

Post: # 26624Post john »

 :( Hi Luath, thank you for showing your interest in the way I do things,I did get a reply from Graham Burnett, but he's extremely bust with other verious projects, and life in general. At least he took the time to reply.
YES, you or I might be on TV again as the Secret Life of Suburbia is on again on SKY Three, but at a different time. For example 8-30am and again at 1 pm I noticed next week. Which I hope will help me to get my message across to others who would like to know, that there is a system that works, made from waste plastic container and unwanted wooden pallets that can be used to grow things to eat, which cost next to nothing to make. May you and yours live long and happy. John. J.R.P.

ASKING FOR HELP?

Post: # 28250Post john »

 Hi ALL,for those who are interesed in my ideas,I sent a e-mail to the Permaculture Council of Management UK the other day to see if they can help me to get my ideas used, and I've sent a e-mail to Sir Cliff Richard too,to see if he can help me,as he believes in tying to help others too,in his own way.
I'm waiting for a reply from both of them,I wonder if I will get a reply, as one has two people at the heart of a big organisation, and the other one is a fames person with a big heart who is in his sixtys too, like me.
May you and yours live long and happy. John. J.R.P.

PROGRESS REPORT SO FAR.

Post: # 29863Post john »

 Hi ALL,for those who are interested in the way I do things I've now sent 2 more e-mails,one to Mr Ben Bradshaw and one to Mr Ellot Morley who are both involved in recycling and the environment to see if they can help me to get my ideas used.
The main one is my food growing system, which is proving to be a great success.
Todate I've picked 1,000 strawberries so far from 100 containers, and some are starting to flower again, and I've got some runners with plants on to add into other containers, grown from this years young pants. I've also picked so far 205 French Bean pods and they are still flowering, and I've picked out 200 carrots from only 10 containers so far, with 40 more to go. Beetroots I've picked out 100 so far with 100 more to pull out, 200 Tomatos with lots more to come from my (M) section pallet, plus I've got about the same again in my (N) section pallet,I've cut off over 400 lettuce tops leaving in the roots,Broad Beans I've picked 100 pods to eat and I've resown 50 more beans in the same container again, which are growing. I've picked 120 Runner Beans so far leaving lots of pods on to save to sow next year, plus I've still got lots more beans to come, plus I've already got lots of new growth to add even more. Potatoes,I've picked out 270 so far from my sown bits in my first 2 pallet sections with no water added, plus I've picked out 80 from just 10 containers with some water added with only 10x1 seed potatoes in someone gave me to try out, with another 3 rows still to empty.
Plus I've got loads of spring onions the size of 2p in my bottles to pull out,I would say about 250 more by the look of them, plus I've picked 110 Radish's from my first 2 rows leaving all the rest to go to seed, which I've used the old seeds pods seeds again in the same bottles, and they are now growing too.
NOW comes the sad part for me,most of my Cabbages,Brussle sprouts,Broccoli, and Cauliflowers havebeen eaton by catterpillers or birds, why because they were the only ones growing before the rest of the plot holders, which I won't do next time. Apart from that isent it great when you can grow your own food to eat. Thank you for taking the time to read my message. May you and yours live long and happy. John. J.R.P.

WISLEY GARDENS VISIT?

Post: # 33060Post john »

  Hi ALL,I'm going to visit WISLEY GARDENS on the 13-9-2006 along with lots of others as part of a FREE DAY run by our Greenwich Council.
I'm also going to take with me one of my 4 base container rows with 8 others to go inside them,to show of my very simple to make transportable water recycling system to grow things in. I'm only going to promote my idea,So I will only be interested in their container gardening section,as I don't grow anythings in the ground my self, even though we have a nice looking laid out garden our selves. Plus I hope this will also help to promote the re-use of some of our waste instead of it going into landfill sites in the UK,and in the rest of the world.
I've tried asking what it seems the mountain to come to me,this way I'm going to the mountain in person you could say, with lots of others who are interested in growing things, plus I might have the chance to speak to one of their experts to get my idea used in some way too.
Please let me know if your going ,so we can look out for each other on what I hope will be a nice day,for all of us,who enjoying growing things on a large or small scale. May you and yours live long and happy. John. J.R.P.

 :( Hi ALL,what bad luck I've had in regards to me going to Wisley Gardens to show off my idea to so many people, who grow things and are great at re-using things too.
The sad part for me is I hurt my back again on Monday the 12-9-2006,so I could not go my self. The good news is I gave my invite to a nice lady who is interested in my ideas,to the point she offered to help me by handing out my website information cards. I was told by the lady who organised it,that with such a good responce they hope to have another free day in the future. I won't bother to post this message on any of the other topics of mine as recommended by other. John.J.R.P.
