Meeting other ishers
So I have been thinking about this for a while, and Romie's post has got me started....
How do you meet up with other ishers/permaculturists/growers etc ? Or do you ? I have thought of doing a Permaculture course, but there are none near me, or on any free weekends [mainly cos I virtually never have any of those] Googled for local groups, garden clubs etc. Failed there too.
Any suggestions ? groups, sites [apart from here, thinking regional] courses ? Just think it would be nice to get together, share ideas and feel the love !

Re: Meeting other ishers
Why not just organise a meeting for local ishers? The Wiltshire group gets together from time to time. We don't have lots of attendees but it's usually a great time.

I agree, I've agonised (slight exaggeration) about the lack of people I come into contact with who 'understand' me.
I tentatively think we could start something here...plus i'll need help LOTS of help come autumn drinking all the cider, perry and wine i'll have to make!

Have you looked into the LETS and Transition networks? Loads of Ishy type people in those.

Romie, I have pm'd you. Maybe we can do a NW meet up ?
There is a Preston group, just starting up, so hoping that might grow into something. Will look into LETS etc, used to be a group here, not sure if it is still around.
Thanks for ideas.

I have been for beers with one but I knew her already. for some reason she doesn't think I am totally mental so she is just as mad.
if there are any in south Devon who fancy a meet then that would be good of course it needs to be not when i am doing my underwater foraging.
