in answer to the "why not?" question, isn't it to do with Reynold's numbers? or am I thinking of smth else?.. its why you can't get six-foot wasps and spiders as in horror movies

Yes exactly. Six foot wasps cannot exist exo skeleton weight and all that but humans are designed better

Just because you see two eyes shining in the jungle at night, do not think that the worse thing that could happen is that you are about to be attacked by a tiger. It could be two one-eyed tigers.

Oh, go on then... Although I can't help but feel I'm having my chain yanked.

It isn't that often you and I share the same chain!

Personally I suspect someone's been eating the funghi these 'piskis' were sitting on.

Andrea Dworkin says fairies are real (not metaphorically real. Historically real). She says it in the first edition of Woman Hating. I am not aware Woman Hating went to a second edition and this may be one of the reasons why, but, obviously, now I like to imagine the Fae dancing round a Faerie Ring hand in hand with Andrea.

Love your stories Bill  .

Fairies are definately real - who paints the pink bits on daisy petals if it's not fairies?

One of my sons went round loudly declaring that fairies didn't exist then he lost a tooth. He put it under his pillow and in the morning he awoke to find a note there to him saying 'I don't believe in you' signed by the tooth fairy! He is 16 now and still believes in Father Christmas.

Unfortunately I have lost the note so cannot prove the existence of fairies but anyone who doesn't believe is very foolish.

When I was small I lost a tooth and put in under the pillow and woke to find a shiny sixpence. A few days later we had pig's head for dinner so I removed a tooth from it and told my mother I had lost another tooth and would put it under my pillow. In the morning it was gone and in it's place was a potato
