Recipe alternatives

Post: # 259359Post sarahkeast »

So I just died and went to heaven :dontknow:

Used all the eggs making banana bread [bananas were reduced in Co op] and chocolate brownies  . Then I remembered I had 2 loaves of [reduced in Co op] bread that needed to be made into Bread and Butter pudding. What to do ? :study:

Quick google search for eggless bread pudding suggested custard. So made up some instant custard and added it to soaking bread/raisins/jam/sugar and bunged it all in the still hot oven.

OMG, it is to amazing, even the kids agreed I got this one right

Anyone else got any 'woops I ran out of a crucial ingredient' recipes or tales ?
Sarah :flower:

3/4 of the amount of butter required can be swapped for veg oil (preferably olive). I've learnt that one over the last 3 years!!

Also, a dab of soy sauce and some dark ale doubles as beef stock.
