Argue with this.

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Well, me, TBH. Or, I don't really binge on anything, but I can put away quite a bit. In fact we might have a bit left in the fridge {slopes off, shifty-eyed}. I love asparagus.
Me too, given half a chance

I too resemble this remark, (at least whenever someone else is buying the stuff! Damn expensive)

i can binge on asparagus and one punet of blueberries is very enough
never cared for any mass produced foods
but as i am a chef i tend to make everthing from scratch
but can eat liqurice by the bag full hehe

the trouble is all the food that is bad for you is cheap and the supermarkets promote it all the time
Darn that Wabbit

I had salad from the garden yesterday, pick and come again lettuce, mint, fennell, rocket, nasturtium, chives, parsley, ground elder, lavender flowers, nearly all perennials, I really can't see the need to juice 'orrible greens.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Can I come over and binge with you MMM, my asparagus bed never did survive the shrews so the chance would be a fine thing. Must have lots of lovely butter or a jolly good vinaigrette dressing though :tongue8:
Deffo! I'm quite impressed with how thick some of the spears are given it only germinated a year ago. Trouble is the blooming things get rocked around by the wind and some have snapped off.

I'm just wondering now whether those wonderful first new potatoes and crunchy Little Gem we had last night should have been liquidised up to pulp and drunk for dinner. Followed by strawberry juice!

Well that depends on what type of person you are and whether you care about the planet.
You got to ask yourself is it better to waste fuel/electricity on boiling your lettuce and then more electricity to liquidise it and then more electricity to run it through a juicer and then more fuel/electricity to bottle the result .....
.......... or just eat it unadulterated.

You have five large Romaine lettuce in the garden about to bolt. Pretty difficult to save the lettuce plus many other produce. Also Romaine doesn't grow in the typical off seasons.Energy is to use as required, as long as it lasts. The planet will survive quite well thank you. It is life on the planet that probably will not.

Enjoy your Caesar Salad.

Well yes, but experienced gardeners will stagger their crops to avoid that happening to a greater extent, or keep livestock to reprocess the extra.

I don't believe I mentioned anything about the planet surviving or not, I believe I said "if you care about the planet" which is more about unnecessarily using it's precious finite resources and pumping it's atmosphere full of pollutants.

Or you could share with your friends, which is why I try to plant extra. This assumes of course that you have friends...

I love this forum, makes me giggle! And I love asparagus and kale with lots of butter and pepper and cheese - wish I could make it but OH draws the line at chickens.

Actually I agree---it was. I had been on the receiving end of a scathing, "mean", and condescending reply in another thread from "Mr." Durgan, and I suppose I just couldn't resist.

In any case, that doesn't make it right, and I apologize if I have offended anyone.
