Harvesting? Squillions of raspberries, a few strawberries, very few peas (very bad year), broad beans, a little salad stuff, shallots and garlic out early due to the weather.

Not a good year but everyone seems to be in the same boat.

Got lots of rasps and blackcurrants tonight. And lifted my garlic which I think could be my best crop yet, despite some of it rotting off.. Oh and a cabbage - the brassicas seem to have decided to grow the birds have had the cherries and the redcurrants (again), lol

Blister Beetles, sunburn, frazzled nerves, and yes, finally tears. It was 106 here AGAIN today, my yard smells like year-old hay and the damned grass is so stiff it's poking up through the soles of my crocs. DH checked the garden at 2:00 this afternoon, and everything was slightly wilty but otherwise fine. I went out at 6:00 and the Beetles had exfoliated the entire melon patch and were advancing toward the tomatoes.

So, an hour and a half later, sweat was pouring off me, I smelled like a lathered Clydesdale, and there's 3 milion dead Blister Beetles, but I think I have saved my tomatoes....so that the drought can have them. I think I'm gonna give up.

edit--sorry for the rant, but I think I've about hit my limit.

Various salad leaves, radishes, nearly the last of the broad beans, courgettes, and the first of the tomatoes.

Various lettus, cucumber, cherry toms and big toms, peppers, potatoes, yellow and green courgettes ( very productive ), onions/leeks/garlic, various herbs....

Peaches, plums, raspberries, wee early apples and pears......

The strawberries are finnished now, as are the cherries and sour cherries.

Lettuce, first of the tomatoes in the polytunnel, spring onions, potatoes (Red Duke of York and Orla), courgettes (though after the first flush the plants seem to have died down a bit), broad beans, kale and my clearly confused PSB which isn't supposed to be cropping until January! The few peas we have get eaten in situ, they never make it home.

Please. Nobody mention carrots. I shall cry.

I harvested my first courgettes yesterday on the same day as my first big red tomato. That has to be a record.

Turnips! (that wasn't a personal comment although I'm thinking of adopting it as a term of abuse.

The list does look quite impressive - I read it out to OH to see if I'd missed anything and he had a huge grin. The polytunnel is fab - considering we didn't build it until March I'm surprised we got anything really.

We haven't had huge amounts of anything though - need to get the succession planting sorted - it might be a lean winter, except for mustard greens!
