Hi from Belfast

Post: # 265467Post narmour »

Hello everyone,

I would suppose I would describe being self sufficient-ish as being my dream lifestyle. My favourite television programme has got to be any of the River Cottage series, I just love the lifestyle they portray.

I have the beginnings of a family on the way, our first child is due in December and I would love to raise my child to get excited about nature and to be a little more connected to the food they eat.

My own efforts include running an allotment, a wee bit of sea fishing and making my own wine, cordials and syrups which I am starting to do a bit of foraging for. Plans for the future will be keeping chickens, maybe even bees if we move a little further out of the city. I guess I'll be using the foraging section of this site the most for advice on what might kill me and what makes great booze!!

Looking forward to picking your collective brains.

Cheers
Neil

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
