I don't live in a yurt myself but do know some friends that do.They live in Scotland, and there are 3 families who all live in separate yurts. Two couples have given birth to babies in their yurts!However.....they don't live in the yurts all year round, they take off to Spain in winter.

Re: Do any of you live in a yurt or similar?
I lived in a tent on a beach in Greece for the summer 6 years ago. It was nice. My only pair of flip flops broke and i was going about without any shoes for about a month, then this Greek guy i knew offered to buy me shoes, haha! It was hot on my feet though! The tent was really sandy and was constantly getting invaded with ants and other bugs. But we built a campsite, constructing a shelter from bamboo for the kitchen area where we had a sink with water supplied by a hose from connected to a water pipe on the neibours land. And we cooked on gas, refilling the tanks as they ran out. We also built a shower, which was composed of a bamboo screan with a hose on the top of a bamboo pole behind the screan, standing on a wooden pallet thing ( like they used for brick or tiles or whatever ). The water fell under the wooden pallet into a channel which was dug going into the toilets, which we also built in a clearing inside the bamboo forest. The toilet was a big pit dug ( the water from the shower channeled into it ) with another wooden crate thing on top of it with a wooden board with a hole cut out on top for a seat. We had seprate pee and poo toilets ( dont know why? ). And we grew our own veg. We were all there voulenteering for The Sea Turtle Protection Society Of Greece ( Archalon ) : http://www.archelon.gr/index_eng.php I was studing zoology at uni at the time and i'd planned on going into payed conservation work and research, not nesseserily with sea turtles, but i allways loved the sea and very nearly studies marine biology.
