Like many of the 20 somethings on here I am tired and feel OLD!
I also feel old mentally as well as physically. I am not into many of the things my friends are, no interest in clubbing or shopping, more interested in baking and growing.

Re: How old are you and how should you feel ???
Very interesting and inspiring thread.
I turned 50 recently and have been thinking quite a bit about the next phase of my life. In terms of tiredness, I do think that, for me, attitude plays a big part in how much I can do. I do tend to waste a lot of energy and time getting in a flap about all the things that need doing, sometimes without actually achieving much. This can be very demoralising. Having a plan sounds like a good idea, but I am bad at making plans as I cannot decide what should be prioritised. You'd think by the age of 50 I would have sorted this out by now!

32 and still feel about 16 in my head. Body doesn't always agree though!! Kind of feel like I'm still working out what I want to be when I grow up!!!!

I dontwant to wind anyone up ,or offend, but If you've worked in a pit,a foundry,or,dare I say it,on a hill farm, for 40 or 50 years (and not just downsized after years sitting on your arse) you may not feel invigourated and full of the joys of life, but just broken. Your body can only do so much.

So the body doesn't work or have any energy. That's not to say that the mind should stop working.

Good old class war. Only the genuine working classes really know how to suffer.oldjerry wrote:I dontwant to wind anyone up ,or offend, but If you've worked in a pit,a foundry,or,dare I say it,on a hill farm, for 40 or 50 years (and not just downsized after years sitting on your arse) you may not feel invigourated and full of the joys of life, but just broken. Hardly, for the last 20 years or so,the overwhelming majority of ''working class'' occupations have involved sitting on your arse anyhow.I wasn't making some huge political point ,it's just that some jobs, over a long period of time take a toll on your body(and hill-farming is one of them, even though we all know Old Ned from Sunnyview farm whose never had a days illness even though he's 112)
.Given the make up of the forum,I should have realised that what I was saying was liable to offend, and I apologise...life's too short. BWs.

Re: How old are you and how should you feel ???
I think my body is feeling a bit broken, yesterday I did 12 mixes of concrete 6 x25k cement and then about a tonne of chip to dust added, although it was in my cement mixer, today I helped dig a trench to find our oil pipe, which was mainly boulders and very hard to dig out. For 16 years I had a shop selling animal feed and helped unload lorries, get big 25kg bags of feed for customers, that was until I was 40, then for the last 12 years, we have been restoring a cottage, having to sell the restored cottage cos we couldn't afford to live in in, now restoring another old house for the last 3 years because it was so damp and just have generally been moving stuff around everywhere. I think I am now physically exhausted and mentally as well, I just look around and see so much that needs doing and I find that exhausting, maybe one day I will actually get to live in my house and just potter in my garden, yeah I think I would like that
