I bought some 100% alcohol what can i do with it? It was £10 for a litre. Going to use it to clean up some secondhand briar tobacco pipes. I will have some left over - what can i do with it?

Make herbal tinctures;
Acid indigestion: 5-10 drops of Dandelion root or Wormwood tincture every ten minutes until relieved. I use a dose of Dandelion before meals to prevent heartburn.
Bacterial Infections (including boils, carbuncles, insect bites, snake bite, spider bite, staph): 30-50 drops Echinacea or Yarrow tincture up to 5 times daily. For severe infections, add one drop of Poke tincture to each dose.
Colds: to prevent them I use Yarrow tincture 5-10 drops daily; to treat them, I rely on Yarrow, but in larger quantity, say a dropperful every 3-4 hours at the worst of the cold and tapering off.
Cramps during menstruation: 10 drops Motherwort every 20 minutes or as needed. Used also as a tonic, 10 drops daily, for the week before.

£10 per litre? So it's not drinking alcohol then? If it's methylated, for heaven's sake don't drink it!

If it's not Ethyl Alcohol (ie methyl or isopropol) don't consume it in any form tincture or otherwise. Liver failure, blindness and death will be likely results. Use it as fuel.
If it is everclear - Ethyl alcohol such as you would find in vodka, don't drink it at 100% (it will actually only be azeotrope at best 96.4% ABV - beyond this alcohol sucks water out of the air to drop to this level)
Drinking 96.4% will result in severe chemical burns to the mouth esophagus and stomach and will quickly result in alcohol poisoning.
In the event that it is drinkable (but too strong; anything over 50%abv MAX) use the Calculators found here:
http://homedistiller.org/calcs/dilute to dilute it safely for liqueur making/tincturing etc.

Definitely don't use it for tinctures then. Do not even think about consuming it. It's a great solvent though, ideal for degreasing oily components, starting Tilley lamps and
so on. Where did you get it from because that's a really good price for isopropyl alcohol.?

Pretty good. We use it at work for cleaning circuit boards and suchlike. Not quite as good as white spirit for getting rid of mineral oil but fairly good for most other things. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopropyl_alcohol

funnily enough a guy on Facebook just posted this up:
in the photo he posted it showed a vinegar bottle and some isopropyl alcohol.I used to spend so much money on ear infections and ear wax removal. Then my doctor told me to mix vinegar and alcohol and put a few drops in my ear after swimming or shower. I have not had any ear issues in years.

Yep alcohol kills most bugs. Personally, I would use ethanol for any use where it enters any orifice!

Sorry, I was at cross purposes to you there southeast-isher. My brain read 100% vodka but you didn't specify!
