Timber and Chooks
Timber and Chooks
G'Day All,
I have scored some timber from work 100mm x 100mm in various lengths, so I am making surrounds for my garden beds whe exact size of my chook tractor. That way I can just slide the chook tractor onto the timber and the little bugger can't dig their way out. It also gives me something to walk and/or lean on so that I don't compact the soil. So far it is working a treat. Will convert across another bed tomorrow!

G'Day Guys,
I really have to get better at this posting pictures thing! Here is a link on chook tractors, but mine is not amongst the pictures!
I will try and post some of my own!

I did wonder that some of them didn't seem to have any shaded areas, and some of the ones that did have a built-in house had no apparent ventilation. But some of them looked well-designed and I'm sure Our Nev's is like that! I have the same reservations about Eglus - they're not very big (that's sort of the point) and I wonder about how hot it gets inside the plastic house.
Mine is an A-frame, half ply half wire, with roosts and a laying area under the closed in part. It has plenty of room for the 4 chooks in it!
