Curiosity/Armageddon
If you heard on the radio, tv or read in the newspaper that the world was ending in 72 hours, (and there's nothing anyone can do about it) what would you do with your last hours?

Re: Curiosity/Armageddon
I would change channel.
In the age of Trump and other neo-fascist and populist disciples of Goebbels and the "big lie" that is an obvious answer, but if we know that the world as we know it is coming to an end that is a very different story. Which story are you asking us to finish? And the truth is that whether or not the world is coming to an end we all are because we are all mortal and we all have very limited time on this earth. So the better question is what are we doing with our lives when we know that we will soon die. we surely do not need to know that the world is about to end to make decisions about what we mean by a good life or a life lived well.

It's a story idea I had, so I'm finding out what people would actually do. All sorts of ideas/viewpoints welcome. It's not a philosophical question.

Quite right. Spend the last three days eating what you fancy, not what you need!

phone my partner and make sure that we spent the last 3 days together enjoying ourselves, go fishing, spend time together, go away into the hills, away from other people, eat well and treasure the last few days.

Clear the allotments of anything edible and share out the spoils. Would hate to see good food go to waste.

Re: Curiosity/Armageddon
I'd like to think the time would be spent pleasantly with the family , enjoying our last few days together. In reality I fear we'd spend the first two days dodging hoards smashing , burning and generally vandalising ( or worse ) anything and everyone just because " we can and there's no comebacks" before those same people succumb to the " oh feck we really are going to die" and go from causing havoc to sitting around sullen and morose .

I'd spend time with my daughters, have a last Maccy D's, and perhaps go on a baking spree, knowing I wouldn't need to do the washing up!
Who knew there could be plus sides to Armageddon.

Re: Curiosity/Armageddon
I've though about this for a while. I think I'd carry on doing exactly what I'm doing, not altering a thing. I think I'm probably more contented now than ever before - why change my ways?

I think this beach, a good fire and a few bottles of select Margaret River Merlot.
